2014 Summer Orientation
All three-day freshman orientation sessions will be held Mondays through Wednesdays on the following dates:
June 30-July 2
Check-in will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Monday morning and end at 3:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon in the Gant/Spalding Lobby. Multiple walking campus tours will be offered during this time. If you are staying on campus, you will have time to settle in to your residence hall room as well. The welcome session will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Monday afternoon.
You and your guests can expect to be busy throughout the program until the session ends at noon on Wednesday. The abbreviated summer 2014 freshman orientation schedule will be posted here by mid-March.
Commuter/Non-Traditional Student Session (Also recommended for Veteran Students)
Friday, June 13 - Abbreviated Student Schedule
Check-in begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 9:30 a.m.. The welcome session begins at 9:45 a.m.. You can expect to be busy with the orientation-related business until late afternoon.
There is only ONE one-day session available for commuter and non-traditional students. To attend this orientation session you must be living off campus in housing other than the NMU residence halls and apartments during the academic year, you are over the age of 24, married, have one or more dependents living in your household or are a veteran.
Transfer Student Sessions
Friday, May 30 - Abbreviated Student Schedule
Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 10:15 a.m.. The welcome session begins at 10:30 a.m.. You can expect to be busy with the orientation-related business until late afternoon.
Friday, April 11 - Student Schedule
(held at Bay College Main Campus for students who have earned credit at Bay College and are transferring to NMU)
Online Transfer Orientation Session - Ongoing
For purposes of selecting an orientation session, please select a transfer session IF you have completed 12 or more college level credits after high school graduation. Please select a freshman session if you have earned less than 12 college level credits.
