Current Organizations

Students for Sustainable LivingThe members of NMU student organizations sponsor almost 300 campus-wide programs and events every year in addition to the hundreds of group activities. These same students volunteer thousands of hours of service annually to local communities. In the process, the student organizations that register at Northern Michigan University every year provide thousands of students with fun, friendships, memories, and educational experiences that cannot be found in the classroom.

Efforts put forth by student organizations are recognized annually at the Leadership Recognition Banquet.

Student Organization: Lutheran Campus Ministry

Description Lutheran Campus Ministry at NMU is a partnership of students, staff, Campus Pastor, and Messiah Lutheran Church, serving the Northern Michigan University community. We don't assume everyone thinks like us, and we don't assume everyone is at the same place on their journey. We do offer opportunities to share your faith questions and deep commitments with others. LCM is a community of mutual support and service for the healing of the world. On Sundays at 6:30 p.m. we meet at the LCM house for dinner and fellowship, located on 701 W. College. We meet for bible study on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Meditation Room of the University Center. On Thursday evenings at 7:30 we meet again in the Meditation Room of the UC for a prayer service. Please check us out on our website, our Facebook, or send a note to our Campus Minister, Lisa Johnson, at
