Student Organization: Racqueteers

Description Racqueteers allows members who share the same interests in all racquet sports to still compete and play with those on their particular skill level. It doesn't matter if you have played a racquet sport or not; you will be taught by other members who have experience in the sport. You will always be matched with someone who has a similiar skill level. The following sports offered in order of importance is tennis, table tennis, badminton, and racquetball. Members will be placed into brackets and can also find a doubles partner to have both singles and doubles tournament. Members will build a strong sense of teamwork, improvement in their game from other members, and a satisfactory amount of sportsmanship. Meetings can also be held to view professional events over the television or to travel to watch other high school tennis athletics. The ultimate goal of this group is to build a friendship with common interests and eventually move towards starting an NMU club team. To become a member, you must have a PEIF pass, be willing to spend money for racquets/rentals, keep in contact with opponents for scheduled games, exhibit a high sense of respect and sportsmanlike conduct on and off the court.
