The members of NMU student organizations sponsor almost 300 campus-wide programs and events every year in addition to the hundreds of group activities. These same students volunteer thousands of hours of service annually to local communities. In the process, the student organizations that register at Northern Michigan University every year provide thousands of students with fun, friendships, memories, and educational experiences that cannot be found in the classroom.
Efforts put forth by student organizations are recognized annually at the Leadership Recognition Banquet.

Student Organization: Microbiology Club
|Description||The Microbiology Club is a group of students who are interested in all things microbiology and seeking an affiliation with the American Society of Microbiology (ASM), a national professional organization for people who work in the field of microbiology. In addition to attending local and national ASM meetings, our organization is interested in bringing speakers to the university to give seminars on research developments in the field. We are also interested in community outreach such as raising awareness on microbiological topics (particularly as pertains to public health concerns). Membership is open to any NMU student interested in microbiology. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org|
