The members of NMU student organizations sponsor almost 300 campus-wide programs and events every year in addition to the hundreds of group activities. These same students volunteer thousands of hours of service annually to local communities. In the process, the student organizations that register at Northern Michigan University every year provide thousands of students with fun, friendships, memories, and educational experiences that cannot be found in the classroom.

Student Organization: SLFP Internship
|Description||The Student Leader Fellowship Program motivates NMU students to explore and clarify their values as citizens in a community. The program enhances self-confidence, creativity, and leadership. Participants apply themselves to move communities towards socially responsible progress. SLFP is a catalyst for self-actualization by inspiriting program graduates to make a lifelong commitment to serve as leaders in their communities. Membership is open to those that have been accepted into the Student Leader Fellowship Program, have a minimum GPA of 2.8, and the ability to make a two-year commitment.
