The members of NMU student organizations sponsor almost 300 campus-wide programs and events every year in addition to the hundreds of group activities. These same students volunteer thousands of hours of service annually to local communities. In the process, the student organizations that register at Northern Michigan University every year provide thousands of students with fun, friendships, memories, and educational experiences that cannot be found in the classroom.
Efforts put forth by student organizations are recognized annually at the Leadership Recognition Banquet.

Student Organization: Alpha Gamma Delta
|Description||Alpha Gamma Delta is an international women's fraternity, having chapters located throughout the United States and Canada. The sisters of Alpha Gamma Delta strive for academic excellence and work together to achieve this. We have many sisterhood events throughout the year that truly unite our members as a family. Sisterhood extends past the years we spend together at college; these women become an extended family, and their friendship will last for a lifetime. On campus we can be seen participating in events during Homecoming, WinterFest, and Greek Week. Our members also actively participate in our community through projects such as Relay for Life and Make a Difference Day. Our chapter holds various philanthropy events to raise money for the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation, which helps fund diabetes research, and during the 2014-2015 school year we raised over $3,000, being recognized as a Jewel Chapter by our International Headquarters. We would love to see you at our philanthropy event for the 2015 school year which will be on September 26th, 2015 in the academic mall on campus. The event is Gam Games which is carnival themed.
