Students for Sustainable LivingThe members of NMU student organizations sponsor almost 300 campus-wide programs and events every year in addition to the hundreds of group activities. These same students volunteer thousands of hours of service annually to local communities. In the process, the student organizations that register at Northern Michigan University every year provide thousands of students with fun, friendships, memories, and educational experiences that cannot be found in the classroom.

Efforts put forth by student organizations are recognized annually at the Leadership Recognition Banquet.

Student Organization: Association of Information Technology Professionals

Description AITP is the community of IT knowledge focused on empowering the IT profession by evolving its members to their full potential as a professional. It is our goal, our purpose, to provide a community network for the IT business professionals to reach their true potential by providing education programs for advancing technology and business skills, leadership development opportunities, networking, peer mentoring and knowledge sharing, and online resources. The local chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals is focused on furthering its members' knowledge of the IT field and giving them opportunities they would not otherwise have. We are a professional association comprised of career-minded individuals who seek to expand their potential and develop a better understanding of the nature and functions of information technology.
