Northern Michigan University's Superior Edge encompasses a wide range of experiential activities complementing classroom instruction to provide students with a distinct advantage by preparing them for lifelong learning, graduate school, careers, and life as engaged citizens. The program has four edges: Citizenship Edge - become an engaged, involved citizen; Diversity Edge - develop a better understanding and appreciation for diversity; Leadership Edge - become a competent, ethical, and effective leader; and "Real World" Edge - develop the ability to relate theory to practice.
