Student Organization: Tri Beta Biological Honor Society


Description TRI BETA BIOLOGICAL HONOR SOCIETY targets undergraduates with a high academic standing. Members are dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research. During the academic year members volunteer/assist with various biological projects. Tri-Beta has affiliations with the DNR, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Soil Conservation Center, Chocolay Watershed Project, and NMU Graduate Research Assistance. Tri-Beta is a national society with more than 320 chapters established at accredited four-year colleges or universities. Awards are available to members in areas of research and publishing undergraduate papers. Tri-Beta was the 1997-98 Program/Project of the Year recipient in recognition of their participation in the Chocolay River Watershed Project to improve the water quality of the Chocolay River.
