Outlook is an organization to help gay, lesbian, bisexual, straight, and transgender students at NMU reach their fullest potential. This should take many forms, as each human is different. NMU OUTlook is founded on four basic tenants: self-pride, self-determination, support, and community service. The group’s membership list is kept confidential. The gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender members of the group are not required to be publicly “out.” Everyone interested is welcome to be a member – sexual orientation is not an issue with us. All members and their opinions are equal. OUTlook received the 2003-2004 Diversity Program/Project of the Year for sponsoring a visit by Debra Davis, and the 1998-1999 Program/Project of the Year for sponsoring Gloria Steinem’s visit.
