||Everyone has felt the sting of cancer in his or her life. Students for the Upper Michigan Brain Tumor Center (SUMBTC) presents an opportunity for all students, no matter their major, to act as advocates for cancer patients. Members will work to increase awareness of glioblastoma multiforme, a common and devastating form of brain cancer, through International Brain Tumor Awareness Week campus events, the Hope Starts Here Challenge, and volunteering in the community. The SUMBTC is also responsible for organizing and raising funds for the chemo-care baskets project, which provides items for neuro-oncology patients in Marquette to make the transition to chemotherapy more comfortable and show the patients and their families support from our community.
Anyone looking to serve as an advocate for cancer patients is welcome to join us - contact email@example.com for more information.
