Practical Nursing

The School of Nursing is committed to providing quality education for students seeking a one year certificate in practical nursing.

Mission Statement:

The Department of Practical Nursing is committed to the provision of quality education using the latest technology to educate technical nurses who are caring, competent, life-long learners prepared for diverse and changing environments.

Practical Nursing is a career which provides the delivery of nursing and technical skills in health care settings. Although hospitals employ a large number of licensed practical nurses, nursing homes, doctors' offices, industrial firms, and other health agencies also provide job possibilities. The program prepares the student to work in hospitals and other various health care agencies. Upon completion of the program, graduates are eligible to take the Practical Nursing licensure exam.
