A “PigStock” themed celebration is coming to Northern Michigan University!

On Monday, March 11th, students will be welcomed back from spring break with an all day party titled “PigStock”. This event will be held at the Marketplace, which is located between the Payne/Halverson and Gant/Spalding Residence Halls on NMU’s campus. The PigStock celebration will be dishing up pork, bacon, sausage and more from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Pigs that NMU Dining purchased at the Marquette County Fair from the local 4-H Club will be used in the menu for this event. Some featured menu items will include: the Vera Cruz Burrito and Maple Bacon Donut at breakfast, Mandarin Ribs & Cavatappi with Sweet Sausage at lunch, and Kogi Tacos and Crispy Thai Pork Pizza at dinner. Vegetarians can join in on the fun by trying dishes such as White Cheddar Grits and Vegan Riblets. While pigging out, diners will have the opportunity to enjoy live music from several bands, spin the prize wheel and enter to win raffle prizes.

Student meal plans are accepted and the public is invited to attend at the following rates: $6.50 for breakfast, $8.50 for lunch, and $9.50 for dinner. Rates for children are as follows: $3.75 for breakfast, $4.75 for lunch, and $5.25 for dinner.
