Biomedical Applications of Magnetic Nanoparticles

Biomedical Applications of Magnetic Nanoparticles
by Dr. Diandra Leslie-Pelecky
Professor of Physics at West Virginia University
Tuesday, March 18
3 p.m.
Mead Auditorium (West Science 2701)

This event is free and open to the public

Dr. Diandra Leslie-Pelecky’s research focuses on magnetic nanoparticles—particles with diameters just a few thousandths the thickness of a human hair. In addition to fundamental studies of magnetic materials, her group uses magnetic nanomaterials for medical diagnosis and treatment processes such as drug delivery, magnetic resonance imaging and chemotherapy.

This lecture is sponsored by the Physics Department and NMU’s Chapter of Sigma Xi—The Scientific Society
