AHA CPR Courses

NMU’s School of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation announces upcoming American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Courses:

AHA-HEARTSAVER FIRST AID/CPR/AED COURSES WILL BE OFFERED ON THE FOLLOWING DATES:

-Saturday, November 9, 2013, 9:00 am -3:00 pm, registration deadline November 1, 2013, PEIF Room 242
OR
-Saturday, December 7, 2013, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm, registration deadline, November 29, 2013, PEIF Room 242

Textbook required for AHA-Heartsaver FA/CPR/AED course is: American Heart Association-Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED Course: ISBN: 978-1-61669-017-5*
The American Heart Association Student Workbook may be purchased at the NMU Bookstore. Students are required to have access to the correct text before, during, and after the course, and must be AHA 2011 or newer editions.

Important note for Education Majors: Successful completion of the AHA-Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED course satisfies the First Aid and CPR requirement for new teacher certification in the State of Michigan.

Textbook Required for AHA-BLS for Healthcare Providers is: American Heart Association- BLS for Healthcare Providers, ISBN# 978-1-61669-039-7.*

The AHA-BLS for Healthcare Providers course is appropriate for Nursing Majors.


Course Fee for Each Course listed above: $60.00/*$50 NMU)
*Full-time NMU students/faculty/staff receive a $10 discount on their course registration for a total of $50.

Location: The above courses will be held in the Physical Education Instructional Facility (PEIF) Room 242.

The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and PALS and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course material, do not represent income to the Association.
