Study course - Istanbul/Turkey - Interest Meetings

INTEREST MEETINGS SCHEDULED on Tuesday January 29 @ 4pm and Tuesday February 12 @ 4pm, in Gries 166. Spend week 1 in the dynamic metropolis of Turkey—Istanbul, visiting Topkapi Palace with its famous Harem, Byzantine monument Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and the pristine beaches of Princess Island. Stroll historic and romantic neighborhoods, shop in the Spice Market and the Grand Bazaar, and cruise the Bosporus. In week 2, visit the site of the Battle of Gallipoli, UNESCO world heritage sites of ancient Troy and Pergamum, Biblical Greco-Roman city on the Aegean Sea Ephesus, the Virgin Mary house, the geological chalk formations and thermal springs of Pamukkale, and the scenic wonders of Cappadocia. Learn about Turkish literature, culture, arts, and history through direct experience and great literature – all for upper division liberal studies and world cultures credit.
