Traditional Outdoor Skills Course Starting After Spring Break 201

RE 295B Traditional Outdoor Skills is being offered as a 2 credit half semester course starting after spring break, Monday March 11th 2013. No prerequisites are required and all majors are welcome. This is a very hands on class exploring traditional outdoor skills applicable to the upper peninsula of Michigan and many other locations around the world. It's quite common for us to hold class outdoors and on a couple occasions we'll meet off campus for material collection and natural history lessons. During our winter 2013 course we'll work on projects such as fire by friction(bow drill), snow shelters, willow basketry, U.P. animal tracks & sign, outdoor awareness games & activities, seasonal edible plants, birch bark containers and more.

If you have any questions feel free to email Peter Bosma at pbosma@nmu.edu. Enroll just as you would any other NMU course, please contact me if you need an ADD card.Hope to see you soon!
