Skied with Kikkan Randall for best U.S. women's Olympic finish in cross country skiing with sixth in women's sprint freestyle at 18:51.6, just 47.9 off the gold medal time.  In semifinals, duo was 16th at 18:48.9 to qualify for finals. Caitlin skied 1st, 3rd and 5th legs and went 7th, 4th and 4th (3:05.0, 3:09.5, 3:14.0). In finals, Caitlin skied the same legs and finished 9th in each (3:07.5, 3:08.6, 3:12.2).

Other Notes: In addition to the above list, nearly every short track speedskater competing at the Olympic Games also competed at the international World Cup competition held at NMU in November. Many of the short track officials and support staff in Vancouver also worked at the NMU World Cup.  In fact, the entire team of officials that are working the women’s short track speedskating events also worked the World Cup at NMU last fall. Forward Phil Kessel of Team USA men’s hockey team is the son of former Wildcat All-America quarterback Phil Kessel (1977-80).  Team USA member Kessel plays for the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs.
