Advisement, comes to Northern from the University of Washington in Seattle.

Washington, and her Bachelor of Science degree from Mankato State University
in Mankato, Minn. Her interests outside of her job include skiing, art
history and home improvement. Barbara's husband, Karl Sponberg, works
in the NMU Development Fund.
Tim
Driscoll is in his first season with the Wildcats as the team's defensive
coordinator and defensive backs coach. Named to the post in February
2001, Driscoll replaces his father, Jim, who spent the last three seasons
on the NMU coaching staff. Driscoll joins the Wildcat football staff
from Fort Lewis (Colo.) College, where he served as defensive coordinator,
special teams coordinator, and also coordinated the strength and conditioning
program since January 2000. Fort Lewis, an NCAA II institution, is a
member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. A native of Marquette,
Mich., Driscoll earned his bachelor's degree in physical education from
North Dakota State University in 1995, and received his master's degree
in physical education from NDSU in 1997.
David

information director. He comes to NMU from the University of Findlay
in Findlay, Ohio. He has earned a bachelor of arts degree from Bowling
Green State University and has completed all the course work for a master's
degree in sports communications from the University of Iowa. In addition
to his experiences in the classroom, David worked at the 1996 Olympic
Games in Atlanta and the 1998 Goodwill games in New York City. He enjoys

a business manager for auxilary services. She has earned an M.B.A. in
finance and a B.S. in marketing, both from Lake Superior State University

Department. Beverly brings to the table a bachelors degree in Computer
Information Systems as well as a Masters in Public Administration.
Her background includes a career in the U.S. Air Force which afforded
her the opportunity to live and work in many areas of the continental
United States and Europe. She looks forward to working with her colleagues
in developing new applications for improving the universitys Website,
and to assisting departments in showcasing their programs on the Internet.
Tom
Stanger served as the director of clinical services and coordinator
of the group therapy program, clinical therapist, supervisor and consultant
at Appalachian State University for 8 years before coming to NMU as the
Director of the Counseling Center. He earned his formal degree in Counseling
Psychology at the University of Florida, and gained less formal education
through 4 years of living in rural Southern Africa, and 3 years counseling
Cuban refugees and juvenile delinquents in a wilderness rehabilitation
program. Tom specializes in brief, focused therapy, group interventions,
and self-identity development. Database development also became a specialized,
if not peculiar, niche of his. Racquetball and pool are among his favorite
get-aways, but talking him into trying his hand at most sports or outdoor
activities is not a difficult task. If the rumors of all the snow in
the UP are true, he assumes he will add skiing to that list.
