Our Mission

The purpose of the NCLL - Northern Center for Lifelong Learning is to enrich the lives of its members through the offering of mini-courses, regular programs, committee participation and social events.

About Us

NCLL, The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning is affiliated with the Elderhostel Institute Network and Northern Michigan University. Its function is to provide lifelong learning experiences primarily for senior citizens and retirees.

With over 200 members NCLL provides mini-courses, field trips, regular programs and social events. Its Newsletter offers membership information and course descriptions for programs offered on a fall, winter, and spring term basis.

A fourteen member board of directors coordinates NCLL‚s activities with four standing committees: curriculum, membership, publicity, and finance.

The curriculum is diverse and classes are constantly changing to meet the needs and
desires of members. Participants have the option of 15 to 20 classes per term with each class varying in length from several hours to repeated classes covering several weeks.
