Anishinaabe News

NMU's Native American student run newspaper

The original Nishnawbe News began in 1971 with a circulation of over 6,000.  Decreases in funding halted publication in 1983.  Anishinaabe News returned as an on-line publication by the staff of the Center for Native American Studies.  In October 2005, it made its comeback as a student-run publication.

Anishinaabe News is published twice a semester and once in the summer.  Writers, photographers and proofreaders (Native and non-Native) are needed and welcomed.

Letters to the editor and guest editorials do not necessarily reflect the opinion of Anishinaabe News or Northern Michigan University.
