Each semester, NMU students who have returned from study abroad opportunities make a presentation to the campus community, sharing what they learned from their out-of-country experience.
Thanks to Grace, Kathryn, Nicole, Chad, and Heather for presenting at this semester's event.

Fall 2012
The Fall 2013 Planet Chat was held at 1:00 on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 in Whitman Commons. Tony enlightened the audience with cultural and culinary information about his native Guangzhuo, China. Christian shared photos, stories, and travel tips from his independent world tour through Jamaica, Panama, Costa Rica, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Israel, Palestine, Egypt, and Jordan. Finally, Sara and Nicole discussed their experiences traveling in Cuba with Professor Amy Orf's Winter 2012 FLSA group.
Four students gave presentations on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 in Whitman Commons. Amanda Emerson and Ben Scheelk shared their experiences in Chile, Meagan Abrahamsson in Austria, and Elissa Clumpner in Taiwan. The audience was a body of students from mixed majors, all interested in studying abroad. Topics discussed ranged from historical backgrounds, to city life, geography, travel, and food at the host countries. After the presentations were given, the audience had the opportunity to ask specific questions about studying abroad. Some students were interested in learning more about the difficulty of the classes while studying abroad, how to deal with culture and reverse culture shock, and ways to deal with homesickness.
