Faculty-Led Study Abroad in Cuba
Is a trip to Cuba on your bucket list? As an NMU student, you have the rare opportunity to participate in a study abroad program in Cuba.
NMU's FLSA in Cuba program involves a 4-credit course, taught in English, called “Cuban Culture and Film.” You will read William Luis’ Culture and Customs of Cuba and watch Cuban films and documentaries. Topics for discussion include: Cuban history, Fidel Castro and Ernesto “Che” Guevara, religion, food/drink, sports, media, cinema, music/dance, and art. Students who have already received credit for SN 300, 301, or 302 at NMU and who complete their assignments in Spanish will receive credit for SN 495. All others will complete assignments in English and receive credit for IP 295.
