Biography and Assignment History:
Second Lieutenant Benjamin Rodenberg was born in La Crosse, WI and grew up in Melrose, WI where he graduated from Melrose-Mindoro High School in 2009. Lieutenant Rodenberg is the son of Larry and Wendy Rodenberg and has one younger sister, Samantha Rodenberg. In the Fall of 2009, Lieutenant Rodenberg attended college at Northern Michigan University. Lieutenant Rodenberg married his wife Brittany Rodenberg on 18 June 2011 and is currently living in Marquette, MI.
Second Lieutenant Rodenberg attended basic training and advanced individual training (AIT) at Fort Leonard Wood, MO in the summer of 2010. Lieutenant Rodenberg joined the 652nd EN CO (-) (MRB) as a Bridge Crew Member (12C). In the fall of 2010, Lieutenant Rodenberg contracted with Northern Michigan University Army ROTC in the Simultaneous Membership Program and received a three year Dedicated Army National Guard Scholarship. During the summer of 2012, Lieutenat Rodenberg graduated from Air Assault School at Fort Benning, GA and completed an Engineer Internship at Camp Humpherys, South Korea. Upon graduation at NMU, Lieutenant Rodenberg achieved a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Science with a Biological Emphasis as well as a minor in Military Science and commissioned as an Engineer Officer in the Michigan National Guard on 4 May of 2013.
Following graduation and commissioning, Lieutenant Rodenberg took over as 2nd Platoon Leader for the 1432th Horizontal Engineer Company in Kingsford and Iron River. Second Lieutenant Rodenberg took the position of Gold Bar recruiter at Northern Michigan University on 17 June 2013. Lieutenant Rodenberg awards and decorations include: Army Achievement Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Silver German Armed Forces Badge (GAFB) and Air Assault Badge.
