Another way to get a head start on your future is through the Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP), a volunteer officer training program that allows Army National Guard and Army Reserve enlisted members to participate in the ROTC Program. The intent of the SMP is to increase officer accessions into the Reserve Components (RC) by increasing ROTC enrollment from enlisted RC members who are attending college.
Upon completion of Basic Training, a reserve component soldier who is an academic sophomore can contract into the ROTC Program and earn a commission as an officer in the U.S. Army upon completing their college degree. In addition, contracted non-scholarship cadets and RFD scholarship cadets can join an RC unit and the SMP. ROTC SMP cadets are paid for their Guard/Reserve training (at the Sergeant E-5 rate) and receive the ROTC monthly stipend. Upon completing the ROTC program, the officer has an eight-year obligation, which can be served in the Reserve Forces, on Active Duty or a combination of the two.
Since you are in the guard or reserve, you have the ability to join our SMP program (Simultaneous Membership Program) and receive the following benefits:
• ROTC Living Expense Stipend (differs by academic year) $ 3,500-5,000
• Reserve Duty Pay (get E-5 pay as SMP) $ 2,500
• Montgomery GI Bill (329/month) $ 3,290
• Montgomery GI Bill Kicker ($350/month) $ 3,500
• Federal Tuition Assistance (yearly) $ 4,500
• State Tuition Assistance (ARNG only) State Dependent
TOTAL OF: $16,290 - 18,790
**There is currently a $10,000 Commission bonus for National Guard (based on MOS)
Contracted cadets have the opportunity to attend Airborne, Air Assault, Mountain Warfare and many other Military schools. Our cadets are non deployable to allow them to complete their schooling on time and along with their peers.
You are the best candidates out there to become officers- you have already made the personal sacrifice and signed up to serve your country. Reservists are enthusiastic, dedicated and motivated individuals, just the kind of students we want around our program. If you’re interested in one of the best leadership programs in the United States, strengthening yourself and your future; visit, call our office at 906-227-2236 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
