Captain Erik R. Carroll was commissioned as an Engineer Second Lieutenant through Officer Candidate School in May 2008. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Workforce Education from Southern Illinois University, a Master’s in Public Administration from Webster University, and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Higher Education Administration from the University of Louisville. Captain Carroll’s military education includes the Engineer Basic Officer Leader’s Course, Engineer Captain’s Career Course, SERE School, and Airborne.
Captain Carroll’s troop assignments include Platoon Leader and Executive Officer in the 20th Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade, serving a year-long deployment in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM. He was then assigned to 554th Engineer Battalion, 1st Engineer Brigade as a Platoon Trainer and Small Group Leader for the Engineer Basic Officer Leader’s Course. Following a staff officer tour, Captain Carroll’s command assignment was 573d Clearance Company, 2d Engineer Battalion.
