A native of Clovis, New Mexico, Master Sergeant Powell entered the United States Army in 1995. He received his Basic training at Fort Sill Oklahoma and his advanced training at Fort Bliss Texas as a 14T Air Defense Artillery Operator. He assumed the duties and responsibilities as the Senior Military Instructor at Northern Michigan University – Marquette on 10 November 2015.

 

Master Sergeant Powell has served in leadership positions from Team Leader to First Sergeant. His previous assignments include: Alpha Battery 1-43 ADA BN at Suwon, South Korea; Alpha Battery 2-43 ADA BN at FT Bliss, Texas; Alpha Company, Noncommissioned Officer Academy at Grafenwöhr, Germany;  Alpha Battery 6-52 ADA BN, Military Transition Team in Southern Iraq; Alpha Battery, 2 Regiment, ADA (THAAD) FT Bliss, Texas.

 

Master Sergeant Powell’s military education and training includes the Warrior Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, Air Assault Course, Battle Staff Course, Combat Life Savers Course and the Field Sanitation Course.
