Graduate Records Examination (GRE) preparation sessions are provided to assist scholars in maximizing their graduate school potential through workshops and guided learning. Workshops focus on utilizing preparation materials, preparing for the quantitative ability, verbal ability and analytical writing components of the test.
Scholars also receive assistance in finding graduate schools that are matches to their interests and abilities. Workshops provide experience in writing entrance essays and searching for financial assistance. Each scholar is expected to complete six graduate school applications while in the program, and application completion assistance is provided on an individual basis. The program also sponsors trips to regional research colleges to let scholars experience graduate school atmospheres and explore potential programs.The McNair program is also happy to provide a wide variety of resources to the scholars that are free to check out at anytime from the various McNair offices. Scholars are also encouraged to check out the expansive list of online resources that have been very helpful to students in the past.
