MARQUETTE – A reception highlighting the photography of high school students from four Native American communities will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 23, at the Upper Peninsula Children’s Museum in Marquette.
The event is titled Waaseyaasibii’ige: Writing with Light. It involves high school students from the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community, the Lac Vieux Desert Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, the Nah Tah Wahsh Public School Academy and the Marquette Area Title VII program. The students completed a series of hands-on workshops that covered camera operation, making prints, processing 8-by-10 inch photos and framing the prints for exhibition.
