An “Evening at the Archives” event focusing on genealogy research will be held on Thursday, Oct. 12, at the Central U.P. and Northern Michigan University Archives. The event begins at 7 p.m. in room 224 of the Learning Resources Center. It is free and refreshments will be provided. A tour of the Archives will follow the presentation.
Karen Kasper, volunteer genealogy and research specialist, will explore specific collections the Archives has to offer that relate to genealogy, along with tips and tricks for using the microfilm machine. Annika Peterson, a former student assistant and now part-time employee, will also present on additional resources and naturalization records at the Archives.
