The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will revisit the art of macrame during a program from 2-4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, in 404A Cohodas Hall.
Dawn Hoffman will explain how macrame was long crafted by sailors, particularly in ornamental knotting forms, to decorate everything from knife handles to bottles to parts of ships. Participants also will learn fundamental knotting techniques. Basic materials will be provided.
The cost is $3 for NCLL members and $8 for non-members, plus a $5 lab fee. Register by Monday, Aug. 17, by calling 227-2979.
