NCLL EXPLORES UNUSED RAILROAD

MARQUETTE, Mich.—The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will feature a course called “The Railroad that Never Ran: A Pre-Trip Program” at 7 p.m. Monday, June 13, in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.

Robert Dobson, local author and historian, will talk about the history behind a $2.2 million railroad built in the 1800s from Champion to Huron Bay that never ran a train.  This class will serve as preparation for a field trip planned in the fall.

The program is free for NCLL members and $5 for non-members. The registration deadline is Thursday, June 9. Contact Al Reynolds at 360-4167 or 475-9836.
