NCLL OFFERS VIRTUAL HIKE THROUGH U.P. HISTORY

            MARQUETTE, Mich.—The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will present “Bentley and McCormick: A ‘Virtual Hike’ Through History” at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 8, in the Peter White Public Library’s Community Room.

            Tom Foye, wilderness guide and local historian, will talk about the McCormick Tract and the McCormick and Bentley families. His presentation will be accompanied by photographs of the trail, as well as many off-trail photos. Sites will include the Yellow Dog River, the remains around White Deer Lake, the old Bentley trail, the site of the McCormick Settlement and Grand Camp and more.

            The class is free for NCLL members and $5 for non-members. Register by May 5 by calling Cliff Stammer at 228-9897.
