NCLL SPONSORS SEABORG CENTER PROGRAM

            MARQUETTE, Mich.— The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will present “The History and Vision of Seaborg: A Tour of the Center” on Thursday, Jan. 20. The program runs from 1-2:30 p.m. in the Seaborg Center in room 2805 of the West Science Building at Northern Michigan University.

            Presenters Debra Homeier and Susan Nazarko will discuss the legacy of Glenn T. Seaborg, Ishpeming native and Nobel Prize recipient. Seaborg promoted the importance of instilling in youth an awareness of science and a desire to learn the subject, along with providing practical support for science and math educators. The event will include a presentation on the programs and mission of the Seaborg Center , visual displays on his background with artifacts of his work and a guided tour of the center and other areas of the West Science building.

            There is no cost to attend, but please register by Jan. 18 by calling Judy Ashby at 225-0011.
