MARQUETTE, Mich.—Northern Michigan University has opened its summer course registration. Both on-campus and Web courses are available.

NMU will bring hands-on learning to a new level by introducing “Northern Summer Field Institutes.” These are two- to four-week intensive field study courses in the Upper Peninsula, on Beaver Island in northern Lake Michigan and Appledore Island off the coast of Maine. They cover a range of disciplines, including biology, Native American studies and archeology. Participants will be able to earn three to four credits per course in a short time frame.

For more information, visit www.nmu.edu/summer. Information on summer youth programs will be announced soon.  Registration for the fall semester is also open. To see available courses, visit www.nmu.edu/records.
