Northern Michigan University students Cory Perry and Joe Manier will discuss their summer internships at Intel Corp. at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, in room 1205 of the New Science Facility. Intel is one of the largest corporations in integrated circuit design and manufacturing. Perry and Manier, both computer science majors, had an opportunity to be part of Intel’s wireless validation team as interns at the company’s facility in Portland, Ore. They worked on several projects and learned how 802.1x protocols are implemented and how to set up and debug issues with some of the latest in wireless technology. The duo will discuss their experiences over the summer, both within and outside of Intel, and give insight as to what they are working on as part of their new jobs here at NMU. They will also answer questions for undergraduate students looking for potential internships in the future. Their presentation is sponsored by the mathematics and computer science colloquium and seminar series.
