A risk management expert from California will present “Hurricane Damage, Terrorism Attacks and Automobile Accidents: The Business of Managing Risk” at Northern Michigan University. The seminar begins at 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, in the Brule Room of the University Center. Admission is free and the public is invited. Diane Crosier is executive director of risk management for the San Diego and Imperial County Schools in the San Diego County Office of Education. She works closely with the school districts to reduce their exposures to workers compensation claims, liability claims and property losses. Crosier started as a liability claims adjuster for State Farm Insurance in 1974. She has worked in a variety of organizations, including Insurance Company of North America (now CIGNA), Industrial Indemnity and Ward North America. Her presentation is part of the NMU College of Business seminar series.
