The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will be “Going Underground” with a tour of the Marquette Township office and an underground home on Thursday, Oct. 23. Marquette Township Manager Randy Girard and home owner Lorana Jinkerson will be the presenters. Participants can compare two buildings, both predominantly underground with portions exposed, but each structurally different. One is based on box design and the other on domes. The program will address benefits of building undergrounds structures that are earth friendly, interesting in design and affordable. The cost is $4 for members and $7 for nonmembers.
