John Withers, vice president of North America sales and marketing (critical care) for Edwards Lifesciences, is Northern Michigan University’s 2008 executive in residence for the College of Business. Withers will present “Leadership, Decision-making and Ethics in the Medical Device Industry” at 5 p.m., Monday, Oct. 6, in the Explorer Rooms of the University Center. A reception in the Charcoal Room will immediately follow. Both events are open to the public. Ewards Lifesciences, located in Irvine, Calif., is a leader in advanced cardiovascular disease treatments, the top heart valve company in the world and the global leader in acute hemodynamic monitoring. Withers joined the organization in 1983 and has held various positions with increasing responsibility in manufacturing planning, operational management, product management, global marketing and North America sales. Withers is a 1980 NMU graduate with a bachelor’s degree in business management.
