NMU ‘PINK AND BLACK’ AFFAIR TO BENEFIT CANCER RESARCH

Northern Michigan University’s Student Nurses Association is holding a “Pink and Black Affair” to benefit cancer research from 7-11 p.m., Friday, Oct. 10 at the Landmark Inn. The public is invited to attend.

Admission is $5 at the door and covers entertainment by a DJ, door prizes – including a Littman stethoscope – and a silent auction.

Attendees are asked to wear pink or black attire to the event – pink being the internationally recognized color for breast cancer awareness.

“October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we hope people will find a way to incorporate pink into their every day experiences to help raise awareness about supporting breast cancer research,” said Jen Martin, chair of the event.

Proceeds from the event will support the Susan G. Komen “For A Cure” Foundation. The first 150 people in attendance will receive a Susan G. Komen pin.
