The DeVos Art Museum at Northern Michigan University will host an unveiling and reception on Wednesday, Oct. 8, to celebrate the return of Sol Lewitt’s “Complex Form MH8.” The sculpture became one of the first conservation projects within the museum’s 1,000-piece permanent collection when it was shipped to Connecticut for restoration and conservation. Lewitt donated the piece to NMU in 1992. Formerly located on the campus sculpture walk, the piece will now be on permanent display in the NMU School of Art and Design. The unveiling is scheduled for 5 p.m. in the museum lobby. A reception will follow until 7 p.m., with comments from NMU professor Steve Leuthold at 6 p.m. The public is invited to attend free of charge.
