The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning (NCLL) will present “How to put your garden to bed before winter” on Friday, Oct. 3, at the Dancing Crane Farm in Skandia. Owner Natasha Gill will give tips on preparing gardens for the winter and for next spring. The farm will most likely be planting garlic and other crops that will sit in the soil through the winter. The potato and tomato harvest should still be going and the greenhouses will still be in full production. Participants can meet either in the east parking lot of the Berry Events Center in Marquette at 12:15 p.m. or in the Jack’s Superserv parking lot in Harvey at 12:30, returning about three hours later. The cost is $4 for members and $7 for non-members. The registration deadline is Friday, Sept. 26. For more information or to register, contact Will Huggard at 228-2316.
