The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning is offering a history presentation and optional hike of the Heritage Trail in Negaunee. The event will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12. Participants are asked to bring a bag lunch and meet in the Marquette Mall parking lot on the west side of Pizza Hut. They will travel to the Negaunee Senior Citizen center to eat lunch and hear a presentation from Carol Fulsher, head of the Heritage Trail Project. She will discuss the development of the trail, along with its history, objectives and accomplishments to date. Those interested can stay for a one and a half-mile hike on the portion of the trail that is already developed. The hike will be led by naturalist Kathy Peters.
