The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will present an art workshop titled “Watercolor en Plein Air” over three Mondays in June. The class will meet from 1:30-3:30 p.m. in the Marquette Arts and Culture Center at Peter White Public Library on June 2, 9 and 16. The founding member of NCLL, Bettie Daly, and local artist Liz Yelland will present the workshops. An artist who paints “en plein air” has an adventurous spirit and love of nature. Weather permitting, participants will venture outdoors to paint at different locales. Daly has had lessons with nationally prominent artists, including Tony Coats and Zolton Zabo. Yellend is a graduate of the Kendall School of Design and has studied watercolor with Nita Engle. She is a professional artist with murals in several public buildings and businesses around Marquette. The cost for the workshops will be $12 for NCLL member and $21 for nonmembers. To register, contact class liaison Marge Forslin at 906-869-4791 before Friday, May 23.
