MARQUETTE – Northern Michigan University will host a biology seminar titled “Fall Survival of American Woodcock in the Western Great Lakes Region” at 9 a.m. Monday, June 12, in Mead Auditorium. Eileen Oppelt, an NMU master’s candidate, will present. She will discuss the fall survival behaviors of the American Woodcock, a North American shorebird whose populations are migratory in northern states and permanent in southern ones.
