NMU ANNOUNCES TWO HOUSTON AWARD WINNERS

MARQUETTE – Northern Michigan University junior Edward Dorow from Ishpeming and senior Andrew Hanson from Hancock are the co-winners of the 2006 Houston Award.

            The award is presented annually by the NMU English department for an exceptional paper in a college composition II course. Dorow was recognized for a paper he wrote in his technical and report writing class, while Hanson’s achievement was in a narrative and descriptive writing class.

            Established in 1984, the Houston Award honors the memory of Howard Houston, an NMU English professor from 1968-1983.
