MARQUETTE – The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will present a tour of Marquette and Baraga County waterfalls on Wednesday, May 17. In the event of rain, or if enrollment warrants, a second tour will be held on Wednesday, May 31. The meeting locations and times are as follows:

            Fred Huffman, professional guide from Marquette County Tours, will lead the tour. Participants will travel from Marquette to Baraga County and see five or six of the Upper Peninsula’s most scenic and remote waterfalls, learn some history of the area, and enjoy a Dutch coffee and cinnamon roll from the Hilltop Café in L’Anse.

            A non-perishable lunch and dinner should be brought. Snacks may also be purchased along the way. Ice water and cups will be provided by Marquette County Tours.

            Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable hiking or walking shoes, as some light hiking will be required.

            The cost is $21 for NCLL members and $26 for nonmembers. There is a class size maximum of 13 and minimum of eight. The registration deadline is Wednesday, May 10. To register, contact the NCLL office at 227-2979. For more information, contact the class liaison at 228-4165.
