MARQUETTE – The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will present “See for Yourself: The Proposed Kennecott Mine Sites by the Yellow Dog River” from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 9. Participants will meet in Cohodas Administrative Center room 414 and travel together to the sites.
The day will include touring the plains area intended for most of the Kennecott mine structures. Participants will also see the surface plans for buildings and a crusher, as well as plans for groundwater and surface-rock storage. The tour will conclude with a hike to the mineral deposit.
Participants should bring a sack lunch and dress appropriately for the weather, including sturdy footwear.
