SYMPHONIC BAND CONCERT AT NMU

            MARQUETTE – The Northern Michigan University symphonic band will perform at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 23, at Reynolds Recital Hall.

            The concert will feature music from 20th century composers, including “Aquarium” by Johan de Meij, “Psalm 46” by John Zdechlik, and “Variations on America” by Charles Ives.

            The symphonic band performs traditional band repertoire as well as transcriptions from symphonic literature. They have toured the Upper Peninsula and given concerts at area high schools in addition to annual concerts at NMU. They are under the direction of Steve Grugin.
