INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST SEYMOUR HERSH TO SPEAK AT NMU

            MARQUETTE – Seymour Hersh, an investigative journalist, will speak at Northern Michigan University at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, in the Great Lakes rooms.

            His speech is titled “Chain of Command: How We Got from 9/11 to Abu Ghraib,” which is also the title of his most recent book. He will discuss the abuse of power in the name of national security.

            In the 1980s, Hersh revealed the CIA’s illicit sale of United States weapons to Libya, the criminal activities of Panama’s General Noriega, the growth of Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal, and other news stories. He is a regular contributor to The New Yorker and has received several awards for his journalism, including a Pulitzer Prize.  He is the author of eight books.
